Hello + Animal Award!

Hi all! Sorry I’ve been absent for a while — school got very crazy and I was unfortunately unable to even open Sims 3, let alone write/do anything but sleep/schoolwork (I’m so behind on reading your stories as well, but I am very much looking forward to catching up!!) 😦 I also got rid of all my CC in a mad fit of “organizing” (aka destroying files in the name of “cleaning out my computer” after a particularly trying exam), so apologies if some future chapters feature slightly different looking characters. I actually have a lot of screenshots that I took ages ago, so I’ll be editing those + uploading hopefully soon! Thank you all for you patience 🙂

In other news, I got nominated for the Animal/Patronus Award!

Thank you, Louise, for nominating me for the Animal Award! If you guys haven’t already checked out her story, The Talented, you definitely should — amazing plot, characters, + photography are to be had!

Edit: just caught up on others’ sims stories and saw that Lila had also nominated me — thanks!! Her story, The Kingston Legacy, is a must if you like beautiful sims + writing + insanely detailed interiors.

Thank you also to Meg for nominating me! Meg writes the hilarious Paradis Legacy complete with gorgeously lit photos (and subjects). No cookie cutter sims here — all of her sims are wonderfully unique and have fully fleshed-out personalities and quirks.

Also thanks to Raymond, who writes the brilliantly planned and incredibly detailed DITFT Set Apart. Going strong at 8 generations long, each generation is beautifully thought out and, honestly, I could talk about the plot for hours. Great poses, great characters, great story 🙂

Thank you Xinxin! Xinxin writes the stunning SilverGlass legacy, which features a wonderful protagonist. I am so excited to read Acacia’s journey to becoming CEO (yess for strong female protags!). Of course, it doesn’t hurt that all of the photos are gorgeous

And, finally (wow you guys rock!!), thank you Trip! Trip has a huge, awe-inspiring talent for writing complex characters and plot lines/conversations that are genuine/so believable. I haven’t read her new story, The Chains of Lyra, yet, but I am definitely looking forward to doing so!

The rules for the award:

1.) Thank the blogger who nominated you, and link back to their page.

2.) Post the award picture on your blog.

3.) Write a short paragraph about yourself and what your blog means to you.

4.) If you could be any animal, what would it be?

5.) Pick and notify ten nominees.

About me: I am a lazy university student with a (very) hearty obsession with food. I love going on food tours of the various eateries around my home and have eaten many (many) cupcakes (for, uh, research purposes, of course). I have 0 pets in real life but have owned approximately 20 Sims 3 dogs named “WOOF” so idk but I think that counts.

I’ve been writing for ages. It began with short original stories, spiraled into fanfic, drifted into the poetry territory, and eventually became attempts at Sims 3 stories. Like Louise, I first discovered the world of Sims 3 legacies through The Ink Legacy. I used to check that website almost everyday in the hopes of a new chapter. I’ve always been an avid Sims 3 player, so hopefully I can successfully combine Sims 3 + my interest in writing into something decent 🙂

Animal: hoo boy. Uh, I guess I’d want to be a red panda. They’re so goofy and clumsy — it’s awesome.

Nominees: As this is my first day back in the Sims 3 community, I’m afraid almost all of the blogs I follow have already been nominated. I actually just searched my lists frantically, and couldn’t find ten, but here are the ones I (think) haven’t been nominated yet — if I find more I’ll add ’em below!

  1. Winters Valley seems very promising so far! It’s written by a 13-year-old (!!) who possesses far more writing talent than I did at that age and features beautiful protagonists + photographs
  2. Kingdom of Eos also seems very interesting! I’ve always been a sucker for medieval stories, and the writing is very fluid and the characters diverse. I’ve just started reading this story, but I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes!

  1. Thank you, once again! I honestly laughed at the ‘About Me’ part 🙂 And I was quite surprised when you wrote beautiful protagonists + photographs, I never thought of Riley to be pretty, hehe. Thank you for nominating me, again and thank you for giving such a nice comment about my legacy!
